A double monk with two straps set across the upper, the MC Chicago Cognac Box Calf, Grey Full Grain & Grey Croco sits between the dress shoe and something more personal. The upper is cognac box calf, grey full grain and grey crocodile-print calf, hand-finished so the tone reads differently from every angle. Dress it up with worsted or down with cotton; it holds its own either way.

Sole: Natural Flex Goodyear Welt leather sole with mountain rubber injections

Made to order in the Mathieu Castanier atelier, hand-lasted, hand-finished and built to be resoled for decades. Available in EU, UK and US sizes, or fully personalised through the 3D atelier.

Nourish the upper occasionally with a matching cream and finish with a soft brush; it will deepen into a rich patina over time.
