Two straps drawn across the vamp give the MC Chicago Medium Brown Box Calf, Dark Red Sole the quiet authority of a double monk. Here it is cut in medium brown box calf, chosen for depth of colour rather than for effect. Dress it up with worsted or down with cotton; it holds its own either way.

Made to order in the Mathieu Castanier atelier, hand-lasted, hand-finished and built to be resoled for decades. Available in EU, UK and US sizes, or fully personalised through the 3D atelier.

Nourish the upper occasionally with a matching cream and finish with a soft brush; it will deepen into a rich patina over time.
